Windy Row Learning Center brings the gift of reading to children who cannot read.
Our sliding scale can’t possibly cover the costs of the one-on-one tutoring that dyslexic children need. Yet without help they fail in school. As adults they are unable to fill out a simple job application and can’t read to their own children.
Our students are bright youngsters who can make wonderful contributions to society—if they learn how to read.
Windy Row is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization, the only nonprofit organization in the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire that is dedicated to tutoring children with severe reading disabilities. Every year we help 20 to 25 children in grades kindergarten through ten with one-on-one customized tutoring. The center uses the renowned phonics-based multi-sensory Orton-Gillingham method of reading instruction to successfully improve the reading, social and academic achievement of dyslexic children.
In addition, we train tutors. Many of these tutors are teachers in the school system. They apply Orton-Gillingham techniques to help all their students become better readers.
Please help us bring the gift of reading to dyslexic children by donating money, materials or time to Windy Row Learning Center.
